The Spanish language channel Telefutura makes its triumphant return to Denver, Colorado, when Golden Boy Promotions in association with Frankie Sanchez Promotions and his new Champions MMA and Fitness gym present “Solo Boxeo Tecate” on Friday, July 9 2010, from the Softball Country Pavilion.
In the main event, former USA Olympian Vicente Escobedo from Woodland California (20-2 14ko’s) will take on a very tough Raymundo Beltran (23-4 15 ko’s) from Los Mochis, Mexico in a, in a scheduled ten round lightweight bout.
In the co main event, former national amateur and Colorado Golden Gloves champion Ricky Lopez (7-0, 2KOs) of Brighton, Co, takes on Derek Wilson (6-1-2, 1KO) of Fort Myers Florida, in an six round contest.
Undefeated welterweights Raul Carillo (5-0, 4KO), faces Garden City, Kansas, Joel Vargas (2-0, 2KOs) in a four rounder.
In what might be the fight of the night in a woman’s professional bought, Denver’s Brittany Cruz (7-2-1) will face hard hitting Nohime Dennison (3-1, 2KO) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, in a scheduled four round lightweight attraction fight. Cruz was a standout amateur in Colorado and is trained by Steve Mestas. Dennison trains at the world famous Jacksons Gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is trained by striking coach Mike Winkeljon .
At the heavyweight limit, Chris Green (8-5-1) of Aurora, Colorado will take on tough veteran fighter John Kaiser in a six round fight. Green is coming off a third round KO win over Emerson Chasing Bear on 6-3-2010. Kaiser is coming off a three fight winning streak and a third round knockout over Jose Beltran.
Undefeated Armenian prospect and western olympic trials bronze medalist Stepan Zeytunnyan (4-0) of Aurora, Colorado will take on police officer Brian Martinez 0-0 in a four rounder to start the pro boxing event.
The event will start with 4-6 amateur boxing boughts. The boughts will feateur local police vs police and gym vs gym fights. A silent auction will be open to the spectators and will include signed memprbila from local professional sports teams and the Golden Boy himself Oscar De La Hoya.
All procedes earned fron the silent auction will benifit the Cops Fighting Cancer Program.
Doors open at 6:00pm with the first punch thrown at 7:00pm.
